Syntax

fx::Flanger options

Options

-name: Optional user-defined name for the transform
-lfo_depth: modulation depth; Type: Float; Default: 1.0
-feedback: add this much of the previous output to the current input; Type: Float; Default: 0.0
-lfo_freq: Frequency of LFO sweeper; Type: Float; Default: 0.25
-delay: delay time (in msec); Type: Float; Default: 2
-max: maximum delay length in samples; Type: Integer; Default: 16384

max: maximum delay length in samples; Type: Integer; Default: 16384

Comments

Flanging involves mixing the output of a short delay line with the dry incoming signal, producing a comb filter that cancels multiple frequencies from the original sound. The delay line is between 1ms and 10ms, and varies contiuously using a low frequency oscillator. The result is the characteristic flanging or "whooshing" sound as frequency notches move up and down the spectrum.

Note that delay time for this transform is measured in milliseconds rather than seconds.
